Former Tiger Joins NBA Team for Summer League

This former Clemson guard will get the chance to showcase his skills in NBA Summer League play.

Clemson’s Jestin Porter has inked a deal to join the Memphis Grizzlies for NBA Summer League, per DraftExpress.

The 6-foot-1 playmaker previously starred at Middle Tennessee and was a key contributor for the Tigers as well.

Porter played in all 35 games and made 31 starts during his lone season at Clemson in 2025-26, averaging 9.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.2 steals in 27.0 minutes per contest. The Houston native shot 37.3 percent from the field, 34.8 percent from 3-point range and 76.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Porter was a double-figure scorer in 12 games as a Tiger and reached 20 points twice, including a season-high 26 points in a win at Notre Dame on Jan. 10, 2026.

Porter arrived in Tigertown as a big-time scorer at Middle Tennessee over the previous three seasons, including averaging a career-best 15.0 points per contest in 2024-25. He started the last 72 games of his career at Middle Tennessee, and shot a career-high 36.4 percent from 3 in 2024-25 while making a career-best 84 triples. His single-game career high was 41 points against UTEP on Feb. 17, 2024.

Porter earned All-CUSA Second Team honors in 2024-2025, and in 2023-24, was named to the All-CUSA Second Team, CUSA All-Tournament Team and NABC Second Team All-District. Overall, he was a three-time winner of CUSA Player of the Week.

Between his time at Middle Tennessee and Clemson, Porter scored 1,500 points across 135 career games.

The Grizzlies will have Summer League games in both Salt Lake City and Las Vegas. Their Summer League schedule tips off against the Oklahoma City Thunder at 3 p.m. July 4 in Salt Lake City.
