One of Clemson’s final targets in the 2027 class is now set to come off the board.
Four-star in-state DT Seth Tillman (South Pointe) will announce a commitment on Saturday, choosing between Clemson, Georgia, South Carolina and Michigan. Kentucky was at one time listed as the fifth finalist, but Tillman never took an official visit to the school.
The 6-foot-3, 300-pounder has been attending Dabo Swinney’s high school camp since he was a youngster and picked up one of the Tigers’ opening offers last summer after working out ahead of his junior campaign.
“I just performed my best and got the offer,” Tillman told TCI in a previous interview. “The offer meant a lot. I’ve been working hard ever since I was little. When my mom told me I received the offer, I was so happy and got in line for one-on-ones.”
On top of his appearances at camp, Tillman has visited Clemson multiple times throughout his recruitment. He was on hand for the Elite Retreat back in March and then attended the second smaller official visit gathering, June 12-14.
Georgia was seen as the team to beat earlier this year, while the Wolverines also made a strong push late. However, Clemson got his final official, and the Tigers have been trending ever since.
All the news isn’t good, though. Seth’s father, Reginald Tillman, unfortunately passed away on Tuesday after a lengthy illness, which is sure to make Saturday even more emotional for the family.
Clemson already has one in-state defensive tackle committed in this class, with three-star Jaden Wuerth (Dutch Fork) announcing back in the spring.
Landing Tillman would put Clemson at 25 commitments for the class, while at the same time, giving the Tigers another highly-touted prospect, seeing as both Rivals and 247 rank him among the Top 140 players in the class.
Rivals ranks Tillman No. 116 overall, No. 11 among all interior linemen in the class and No. 2 in the Palmetto State.
