Clemson Lands Commitment from Highly-Rated Defender

Clemson has added another crucial piece to its 2027 recruiting class.

Four-star in-state DT Seth Tillman (South Pointe) announced a commitment to the Tigers on Saturday, choosing Clemson over Georgia, Michigan and South Carolina.

The 6-foot-3, 300-pounder has been one of the top targets for Clemson throughout, picking up an opening offer last summer while working out at Dabo Swinney’s camp. Tillman has been attending the camps since he was a youngster.

The blue-chip talent took official visits to each of his four finalists, with the Tigers getting the final one. Tillman was on hand for the second, smaller official visit gathering, June 12-14. He also attended the Elite Retreat in March and the season-opener against LSU last fall.

As a junior, Tillman played a key role in helping lead his high school team to a 4A state title, racking up 61 tackles, 27 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks.

Tillman becomes the 25th member of the class, and the 18th commitment for the Tigers since the middle of May. He also becomes the second defensive tackle to announce a verbal pledge, joining three-star in-state prospect Jaden Wuerth.

Rivals ranks Tillman No. 116 overall, No. 11 among all defensive tackles in the class and No. 2 in the Palmetto State.
