Kyle Richardson has now zeroed in on his top tight end targets for Clemson in the 2028 recruiting cycle.

The Tigers extended two offers over the weekend, with three-star Wright Martin (Christ Presbyterian Academy, TN) being the first to go public on Friday. The 6-foot-2, 245-pounder worked out on the final day of Dabo Swinney’s high school camp last month.

Martin, who is also a standout baseball player at the high school level, currently has more than a dozen offers, including Georgia, Ohio State, SMU, Virginia and Maryland.

As a sophomore, Martin had 23 catches for 309 yards.

The Rivals Industry Rankings slot him as the No. 18 tight end in the class.

Four-star Kaleb Ballard (Wetumpka, AL) went public with an offer on Saturday. The 6-foot-5, 215-pounder is ranked as the top tight end in the class at Rivals.

Ballard also worked out at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp the first week of June. He also camped at Auburn, Alabama and Florida, among others this summer.

He currently holds more than two dozen offers, with Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, LSU, Ole Miss, and Georgia Tech among some of the other schools to have offered.

As a sophomore, Ballard caught 32 passes for 573 yards with 10 touchdowns.

Rivals ranks him No. 34 overall, No. 1 among all players at the position and No. 2 in the state of Alabama.

Most years, Clemson typically takes one tight end. This current cycle is one of the few exceptions, as three-star talents Carter Blackwell and Nickolas Pollack are both currently committed. Prior to this current class, the last time the Tigers took two was back in the 2023 cycle, when Olsen Patt-Henry and Markus Dixon were both signed.

Richardson has generally been extremely good when it comes to landing one of his top two targets, with the lone exception coming during the current 2027 cycle. Clemson offered a total of six, landing Blackwell and Pollack.
