Clemson Hurler Signs MLB Deal

Clemson has officially lost one of its best pitchers from last year’s team.

Reliever Ariston Veasey has signed with the Cubs after being taken No. 337 overall in the 11th round of the MLB Draft.

Veasey transferred to Clemson ahead of the 2026 season after spending two seasons at Alabama. He became one of the Tigers’ most reliable relievers throughout the season, posting an ERA of 3.29 and had 37 strikeouts in 25.1 innings pitched. Opponents hit just .143 against him, which was tops on the team.

Veasey joins catcher Jacob Jarrell and incoming recruit Blake Bryant (RHP) as players from last season’s team to have announced signings.
