Former Clemson star Cam Cannarella’s hot summer has continued after being promoted to the Triple-A level.

Cannarella was promoted to Triple-A Jacksonville in the middle of July, and just like he has at his other stops, the left-handed hitter has gotten off to an impressive start.

After going 2-for-4 on Saturday afternoon with both of those hits going for doubles, Cannarella is hitting .321 at the Triple-A level.

Across his first seven games, he is 9-for-28 with four doubles, one home run and two runs driven in. Cannarella is sporting an on-base-percentage of .406 and slugging .571. His OPS is .971.

Cannarella missed a chunk of time earlier this season due to a fractured wrist he suffered in April.

After returning from the injury and being promoted to Double-A Pensacola in early June, he really caught fire. He slashed .344/.453/.607 with nine homers, five doubles, 23 RBI, 29 runs scored, eight steals and a 23:20 walk-to-strikeout ratio in 122 at-bats over 34 games with the Blue Wahoos.

In 19 games at High-A this season, Cannarella slashed a stellar .394/.439/.577 in 71 at-bats over 19 games. The 22-year-old logged three home runs, two doubles, one triple, 22 RBI, 15 runs scored and two stolen bases, while walking eight times and striking out only 10 times.

Cannarella was selected by the Marlins in the Competitive Balance Round A (No. 43 overall) of the 2025 MLB Draft. He was the final pick prior to the second round. The Marlins agreed to a deal with Cannarella for $2,277,425 (slot value = $2,276,700).

In his three-year Clemson career (2023-25), Cannarella – a three-time All-ACC selection and two-time All-American — hit .360 with 262 hits, 54 doubles, eight triples, 23 homers, 159 RBIs, 192 runs and 30 steals in 178 games. He also had a .551 slugging percentage and .453 on-base percentage.

In his final season as a Tiger, Cannarella hit .353 with five homers, two triples, 22 doubles, 52 RBIs, 62 runs, a .479 on-base percentage and six steals in 61 games. He ended the season on a 44-game on-base streak and a 22-game hitting streak, as he hit .421 with four homers, a triple, 11 doubles, a .684 slugging percentage and .491 on-base percentage during that streak.
