Titans Sign One Former Clemson CB, Waive Another

An NFL team has added one former Clemson cornerback, while parting ways with another former Tiger corner.

On Aug. 1, the Tennessee Titans announced they’ve signed Mario Goodrich, and have waived Jeadyn Lukus.

Goodrich finished his four-year Clemson career from 2018-21 credited with 84 tackles (0.5 for loss), 15 pass breakups, five interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery over 47 games (16 starts). He earned third-team All-America honors from PFF and first-team All-ACC status for his performance as a senior in 2021, when he concluded his career as MVP of a win over Iowa State in the 2021 Cheez-It Bowl.

Goodrich originally signed with the Philadelphia Eagles after going undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft and spent two seasons on the Eagles’ practice squad before being waived by Philly and claimed off the waivers by the New York Giants.

In addition to the Eagles and Giants, he has also spent time with the Denver Broncos and New York Jets, along with two separate stints with the Birmingham Stallions of the United Football League.

Lukus signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Titans after going unselected in the 2026 NFL Draft. A former five-star prospect and the No. 1 player in South Carolina for the 2022 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite, Lukus battled injuries to record 61 tackles (2.5 for loss), 11 pass breakups and two interceptions over 43 games (15 starts) during his Clemson career from 2022-25.

While Lukus’ athleticism was never in question in his Clemson career, he still never quite found consistent success as a member of the Tigers’ secondary. The former top-30 national recruit showed early promise, catching his first career interception in the 2022 ACC Championship win over North Carolina, and notching three pass breakups in 2023. By the start of the 2024 season, he became a regular starter.

However, after early struggles, Lukus lost his starting job by the end of the season, and only made one start in 2025, after dealing with nagging injuries and missing most of fall camp. After playing a combined 721 snaps his sophomore and junior seasons, he only logged 197 in 2025.
