Clemson has offered only two safeties in the 2028 recruiting class, and at some point that number will rise.

One safety who had been on the radar was three-star Isaiah Reeves (Mountain View, GA). The 6-foot-1 defensive back made his first visit to campus back in June. Safeties coach Nolan Turner ramped up the communication on June 15, when coaches could start contacting players in his class directly.

“Definitely the stadium and the hill. They took me there, and that was pretty cool,” Reeves told The Clemson Insider. “I have been inside the locker room, too. Coach Turner just took me all around campus. We started talking a lot more after June 15. We talk consistently. Almost every week. Just texting and chopping it up.”

Last week, Reeves announced he was planning to visit Clemson again on September 19 for the Tigers’ home matchup against North Carolina. He also announced game-day visits to Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky and Virginia Tech. Of those schools, Clemson was the only program not to have extended an offer.

Initially, Reeves was hoping to land the offer when he visited next.

“That offer would really probably mean the most,” Reeves said. “They really don’t give out many.”

However, the Clemson visit is now off, as Reeves is set to announce a commitment on Sunday, with Florida, Georgia, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech and Tennessee as the finalists.

“The main thing I am looking for is a coach that can develop me and help me get into the NFL,” Reeves said. “Because that is my main goal.”
