A former Clemson standout has landed with a new NFL team.
The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Monday they have signed linebacker Baylon Spector.
Spector, 27, has played four seasons in the NFL (2022-25), all with the Buffalo Bills. He was selected by Buffalo in the seventh round (231st overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft.
In 29 career NFL games (four starts), Spector has tallied 55 total tackles, two tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and one fumble recovery. Last season, he made three game appearances, totaling three tackles.
His most extensive action came in 2024, when he appeared in 11 games, including four starts, while recording 1.5 sacks, one quarterback hit and a fumble recovery to go with 40 total tackles (two tackles for loss).
Spector has also notched a couple of tackles while playing in three playoff games, including one start in 2023.
A two-year starter in college, Spector started 21 of the 53 games he played at Clemson, finishing his career with 210 tackles, nine sacks, four forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, three pass breakups and an interception. He was the Tigers’ second-leading tackler (85) in 2021 when he was a team captain.
Spector led the team in tackles (72) and sacks (4.5) in 2020. He also had 10.5 tackles for loss that season.
With the Jaguars, Spector will reunite with quarterback Trevor Lawrence and defensive tackle Ruke Orhorhoro. Spector and Orhorhoro were Clemson teammates from 2019-21, while Spector and Lawrence played together at Clemson from 2018-20, winning the national title in 2018.
