Max Wilson, a junior walk-on running back for Clemson, has been awarded a scholarship.
Wilson shared the news with his parents at the team’s scrimmage this past Saturday, and the emotional moment was captured and shared by Clemson Football on social media.
Wilson joined the program as a walk-on in 2025. The 5-foot-10, 200-pounder made his team debut with five snaps against Furman last season on Nov. 22, and earned a spot on the ACC Honor Roll last year.
Wilson, a financial management major who completed a microinternship with Northwestern Mutual this past spring, played quarterback at North Oconee High School in Georgia. He earned Region 8-4A Offensive Player of the Year honors as a senior in 2023.
