One of Clemson’s top offensive line targets has set a date for his next visit to Clemson.
2028 four-star Reece Wilmes (Lawrence Free State, KS) tells The Clemson Insider that he plans to visit for the rivalry matchup against South Carolina on November 28. He also added that he could make it in for an earlier game, but this is the one he’s already got locked in.
Wilmes has been a frequent visitor in the past. His brother, Braden Wilmes, is currently a freshman offensive lineman for the Tigers.
The 6-foot-5, 285-pound prospect was the first offensive lineman in the 2028 class to go public with an offer from Clemson, announcing one about two weeks after working out at camp in June.
“It’s an honor,” Wilmes told TCI after getting the call. “(Coach Luke) shared that I earned this offer on my merits and that he wanted me to be a part of the first group he’s contacting. Just knowing the Tigers don’t make many offers makes it so special.
“Long way to go before a decision is made, but knowing what I know about the Tiger football program and Clemson University, it is definitely high on my list.”
Wilmes currently has more than a dozen offers, including Indiana, Oregon, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Kansas and Kansas State.
The Rivals Industry Rankings slot Wilmes No. 254 overall and No. 13 among all interior linemen in the class.
