Kaydan Whiteside’s busy fall schedule includes a stop in Clemson.

The three-star ATH, out of Asheville High School (NC), will visit on September 19, when the Tigers host North Carolina. He was last on campus in June, when he worked out at two different sessions of Dabo Swinney’s high school camp.

Whiteside’s camp appearance was his first time at Clemson, and it’s safe to say the experience made an impression.

“It was great,” Whiteside told The Clemson Insider. “I feel like the coaches really show their personalities. You get to get on campus. You can just feel the realness.”

And the up and coming high school junior can’t wait to be back.

“Just seeing the hospitality in Death Valley,” Whiteside said. “To see how tunrt it gets.”

While some schools are recruiting Whiteside as a defensive back, the Tigers are pursuing him as a wide reciever. He plays both ways at the high school level.

Since June 15, the 5-foot-11 prospect has been hearing from assistant Tyler Grisham on a regular basis.

“I hear from him a lot. He likes me a lot,” Whiteside added. “He is very big on me. He told me I am above the black line, and that I was one of their top guys. He said a lot of stuff to make me feel good.”

Whiteside also has fall visits set with South Carolina, Wake Forest, Florida State, Tennessee, North Carolina, NC State, Florida and Virginia Tech. All those schools are among his more than 20 offers in total. However, Clemson has yet to extend one. In fact, the Tigers have only offered one reciever in the 2028 class to this point.

Although, Whiteside feels like if he keeps putting in the work, an offer from Clemson might be in his future.

“He also said to keep my head up and don’t stop working. To keep grinding and keep balling,” he said. “They want me to come to campus this fall, so hopefully they offer me then.”

Knowing how the process is at Clemson, and how slow the staff takes it with the recruiting process makes him want it even more. Add in his high school having already produced one NFL talent in former Clemson cornerback Crezdon Butler, and it makes Swinney’s program even more appealing.

“I like Clemson a lot,” Whiteside said. “That kind of makes you want it a little bit more. I have always been big on Clemson. Crezdon Butler, he came from Asheville and went to the league.”

However, despite not having the offer yet, Whiteside already holds Clemson in extremely high-regard.

“I like Dabo a lot. I like coach Grisham a lot,” he said. “When you think of Clemson, you just think of a prestigious school. I don’t know how I would react, but Clemson is my number one school, though, for sure.”
