This former Clemson standout has been let go ahead of this evening’s deadline for NFL roster cuts.

The Jacksonville Jaguars released linebacker Baylon Spector, per NFL Insider Tom Pelissero.

Today at 6 p.m. marks the NFL’s cutdown deadline, where teams have to reduce their rosters from 90 to 53 players.

Spector had signed with the Jaguars on Aug. 17.

Spector, 27, has played four seasons in the NFL (2022-25), all with the Buffalo Bills. He was selected by Buffalo in the seventh round (231st overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft.

In 29 career NFL games (four starts), Spector has tallied 55 total tackles, two tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and one fumble recovery. Last season, he made three game appearances, totaling three tackles.

His most extensive action came in 2024, when he appeared in 11 games, including four starts, while recording 1.5 sacks, one quarterback hit and a fumble recovery to go with 40 total tackles (two tackles for loss).

Spector has also notched a couple of tackles while playing in three playoff games, including one start in 2023.

A two-year starter in college, Spector started 21 of the 53 games he played at Clemson, finishing his career with 210 tackles, nine sacks, four forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, three pass breakups and an interception. He was the Tigers’ second-leading tackler (85) in 2021 when he was a team captain.

Spector led the team in tackles (72) and sacks (4.5) in 2020. He also had 10.5 tackles for loss that season.
