Former Clemson DL Waived

A former Clemson defender was waived on Sunday.

The New York Jets waived former Tigers’ DT Payton Page in one of the moves made to get down to the 53-man roster limit. If Page were to clear waivers, he could still be resigned to the Jets’ practice squad.

Page signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent in May of 2025, then spent most of last season on the practice squad. Late in the season, he was activated to the main roster, and in Week 17, recorded five tackles in a loss to the New England Patriots.

Page finished his four-year Clemson career (2021-24) credited with 69 tackles (6.5 for loss), a half-sack, two pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and a 57-yard pick-six in 53 career games (14 starts).

He was one of the Tigers’ defensive leaders as a senior in 2024, when he earned third-team All-ACC honors after posting 36 tackles (2.5 for loss), 0.5 sacks, a pass breakup and an interception he returned 57 yards for a touchdown over 14 games (all starts).
