During his Tuesday press conference, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney provided an update on the injury status of his team heading into Saturday’s season opener at LSU.
“We’ve had some guys throughout camp that have had to miss some time for this and that and different things. But most hands are on deck,” Swinney said. “We’ve got a couple guys that are kind of battling to get back for the game. But from a season-ending standpoint, nothing really new.”
Swinney previously announced that highly regarded true freshman safety Polo Anderson will be out for the 2026 season after tearing his ACL during a fall camp practice, and that junior linebacker Joseph Roberto II also suffered a season-ending torn ACL during camp.
“Y’all know about Polo,” Swinney said. “That was probably the biggest injury, as far as the season goes. Roberto was another one, for the season.”
Saturday’s Week 1 matchup against 11th-ranked LSU at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, La., is slated for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on ABC. Clemson enters the game as a 10.5-point underdog.
