Clemson is coming off a disappointing 7-6 campaign in 2025, but that doesn’t mean opponents will take the Tigers lightly this year, at least not according to head coach Dabo Swinney.

Though Clemson is unranked in the preseason AP Top 25 Poll for the first time since 2011, and not receiving nearly as much hype as the Tigers did a year ago when they were a preseason top-four team, Swinney says no opponent is going to “overlook” his program.

Swinney said during his Tuesday press conference ahead of Saturday’s game at No. 11 LSU that the teams Clemson plays do not feel sorry for them, while adding that Clemson has won too many games and too many championships for anyone to look past them.

“Ain’t nobody going to overlook Clemson,” Swinney said. “We’ve won too many games, we’ve won too many championships, for people to overlook Clemson. We’re going to get everybody’s best shot every single week, and you better understand that as a Clemson football player. … So, that part hasn’t changed from a football standpoint.

“People talk about Clemson, it’s just a matter of whether it’s good or bad or whatever. That can change from year to year, week to week, hour to hour. But I promise you – people we play, they’re not going to feel sorry for Clemson or overlook Clemson. We’ve gotta be ready.”

Saturday’s game between Clemson and LSU is slated for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on ABC.

Clemson is a 10.5-point underdog entering the contest at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, La.
