Swinney Gives Update on Another Injured Lineman

BATON ROUGE, La. — If there was one area Clemson could not afford any real injuries, it was at defensive tackle.

Unfortunately, that was not the case in the Tigers’ 51-10 loss to LSU Saturday night at Tiger Stadium.

Clemson was already down three players on the defensive front, with Kourtney Kelly out with a knee injury, Hevin Brown-Shuler due to cancer diagnosis, and Vic Burley suspended indefinitely after last month’s arrest in Clemson.

During Saturday’s game, Clemson lost defensive tackle Marcus Strong to injury, plus defensive tackle Champ Thompson, as well. The former was injured twice in the game.

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said after the game that Thompson was able to return to the game on both occasions and appears to be doing okay. Swinney will have more updates from an injury front this evening.
