List of Recruits Set to Visit for Georgia Southern

Clemson will hold its first home game of the season when Georgia Southern visits on Saturday, and several high school prospects are set to be on hand.

Arguably the biggest name to know is four-star linebacker Jay Schell (Rabun Gap, GA). The blue-chip talent was the first member of the 2028 class to pick up an offer from the Tigers.

Schell recently released a list of his two finalists, which included Clemson and Oklahoma. He will visit Oklahoma the following weekend, and Schell recently told TCI he is expecting to make a decision shortly thereafter. Possibly even before the end of the month.

Schell is a legacy recruit, with his father, Matt Schell, serving as a quarterback during the Tommy Bowden days. However, Brent Venables and the Sooners have built a lot of momentum in this one, so if the Tigers have any shot, this visit will need to be a big one.

“I think some of the boxes I am looking at are culture fit, development, relationship with the staff, my schematic fit,” Schell told TCI earlier this month. “Something else I have to take into consideration is proximity to home. Clemson is very close to home. Oklahoma is not. And that is a part I have to pray about, and it is a part of my decision.”

Four-star CB Domonic Williams (Jacksonville, NC) will also be in attendance. Williams was the first corner in the 2028 class to secure an offer after an impressive performance at camp back in June.

Here are some of the other names TCI has confirmed will be on hand.

  • Four-star WR Zyon Robinson (McEachern, GA)
  • Three-star WR Kaydan Whiteside (Asheville, NC)
  • Three-star TE Wright Martin (Christ Presbyterian Academy, TN)
  • Three-star RB Michael Martin (Southside Christian, SC)
  • Three-star CB Zion Malloy (Page, NC)
  • OL Grant Farrell (Glynn Academy, GA)
  • In-state LB Hayden Schwabb (Florence Christian)
  • In-State DB Desiray Christian (Emerald)
  • 2029 DT Emavian Gibson (Dorman, SC)

Some current commits are also expected to be on hand, including 2027 four-star Kharim Hughley (Gainesville, GA). Clemson’s lone 2028 commit, three-star QB Trace Hawkins (Calhoun, GA), will also be on hand for the first time since announcing his verbal pledge.
