CLEMSON — Senior quarterback Christopher Vizzina got the start for Clemson in Saturday’s game against Georgia Southern at Memorial Stadium. He played the first three series before being replaced by true freshman Tait Reynolds, and Vizzina did not play the remainder of the first half.

During his halftime interview on ACC Network, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney explained why Vizzina didn’t play the rest of the first half.

Swinney said the Tigers were going to put Vizzina back into the game at some point, but Vizzina “couldn’t feel his left arm,” suggesting he is dealing with some type of injury.

Clemson led Georgia Southern, 16-7, at halftime. In his limited action, Vizzina completed 4-of-7 passes for 19 yards with one touchdown — a 10-yard pass to TJ More at the 11:01 mark of the first quarter. On Clemson’s ensuing possession, Vizzina threw an interception on what would be his final pass of the first half.
