Dabo Swinney has another honor to add to his long list of accolades.

The longtime Clemson head coach was recently voted by RotoGrinders as the third ‘Most Handsome’ college football coach. Swinney received a grade of 70.8 out of a possible 100.

“Clemson’s Dabo Swinney takes third with a final score of 70.8/100. Entering his 19th season in charge, Swinney is Clemson’s all-time winningest coach, the winningest coach in ACC history and one of the most decorated names in the sport, with two national championships to his name. He is also one of only three coaches in this study to score above 70.0/100.“

During his weekly press conference on Tuesday, Swinney was asked how he felt about the result.

“As in good-looking? Wow, finally something goes my way. I thought you were going to say something like the most hated guy or whatever,” the head coach responded surprisingly.

Swinney was then told it was Duke’s Manny Diaz and Indiana’s Curt Cignetti who finished ahead of him.

“I am going to have to process that,” he laughingly added after a long pause. “What kind of reputable website is this we are dealing with?”

However, Swinney did have a theory for how the top three might have been decided.

“Me, Cignetti and Diaz have the same agent, so maybe it was just based on our agency,” Swinney said with a laugh. “You might want to check that.”

Here’s how the results were calculated:

To find out who stood out, RotoGrinders analyzed three images of every FBS head coach, totaling 414 images across 138 coaches, using facial landmark analysis to identify 468 facial landmarks per image.

Each image was assessed against two sets of facial-proportion reference measures: neoclassical facial proportions and the Pallett-Link-Lee ratios.

• Neoclassical facial proportions: four geometric measures covering face length-to-width, facial vertical thirds, eye width relative to the inter-eye gap, and nose-to-mouth relative to mouth-to-chin proportions.
• Pallett-Link-Lee ratios: two published facial-proportion measures comparing eye-to-mouth distance with overall face length, and interpupillary distance with face width.

The six measurements were converted to relative 1 to 10 scores based on how closely each image matched the selected reference proportions. The three image-level scores were then averaged, and the final coach result is displayed on a 100-point scale for readability.
