Following Clemson’s 28-20 comeback victory over North Carolina on Saturday at Clemson’s Memorial Stadium, Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney and Tar Heels head coach Bill Belichick shared a very brief postgame handshake at midfield.
The hasty handshake occurred just moments after Clemson sealed the win, with Belichick quickly turning away after the rapid exchange.
The swift meeting capped off a tense day at Death Valley that was halted in the fourth quarter by a lengthy weather delay spanning nearly two and a half hours. The Tigers persevered through a 14-point deficit and loud boos from their home crowd to secure the win over Belichick’s Tar Heels in the ACC opener for both teams.
