Following a lightning delay that lasted two and a half hours, Clemson (2-1, 1-0 ACC) stormed from behind in the fourth quarter to beat North Carolina (2-1, 0-1) by a score of 28-20 at Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
After trailing 17-3 midway through the second quarter and then 20-15 with 6:34 to play shortly after the weather delay, the Tigers scored touchdowns on consecutive possessions and intercepted the Tar Heels with 32 seconds left to seal the victory.
Sophomore running back Gideon Davidson rushed for 105 yards and scored the go-ahead touchdown on an 8-yard run with 5:01 remaining, while true freshman quarterback Tait Reynolds completed 20 of 29 passes for 215 yards and a touchdown with one interception in his first career start.
Clemson continues ACC action on Friday night when it travels to the Pacific coast to play the Cal Golden Bears. Kickoff is set for 10:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
