Clemson went on a long touchdown drive to take its first lead of the game in Friday night’s contest against Cal at Cal’s Memorial Stadium.

Running back Gideon Davidson took a direct snap and punched it in for a 1-yard score, capping a 17-play, 66-yard march that gave the Tigers a 10-7 advantage with 5:37 to play before halftime.

It marked the second touchdown of the season for Davidson, who scored the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter of last week’s comeback win over North Carolina.

The drive was prolonged on multiple occasions thanks to two fourth down conversions, a Cal offsides penalty on a Clemson pooch punt and a Cal unnecessary roughness penalty.

Clemson ran more offensive plays on that drive than Cal had all game (14) to that point.
