A former Clemson star is currently sidelined due to injury.
New Orleans Saints running back Travis Etienne Jr. is expected to miss time after suffering a hamstring injury during Sunday’s Week 3 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.
On Monday, Saints head coach Kellen Moore confirmed that Etienne will experience “time lost,” but the team has not yet determined a specific recovery timetable or whether he will be placed on injured reserve.

Etienne began grabbing at his left hamstring shortly before going out of bounds following a 16-yard run in the third quarter. He was pushed out of bounds by a defensive player and grabbed at his leg again while on the ground. Etienne got up on his own and limped to the opposite sideline, then went into the injury tent before going to the locker room.
Etienne had been on the injury report leading up to the game with a hamstring issue but participated fully in Friday’s practice. Moore said the injury occurred on the same leg as the one that had been bothering him during the week.
Etienne, 27, joined the Saints this past offseason on a lucrative four-year, $52 million deal after spending the first five years of his NFL career with the Jacksonville Jaguars, who took him with the 25th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Etienne rushed 13 times for 57 yards, both season-highs, before his injury Sunday. Overall, in three games this season, he has rushed for 128 yards on 30 carries while catching 11 passes for 51 yards.
Last season, Etienne surpassed 1,000 yards rushing for the third time in his first four active seasons after missing his entire 2021 rookie campaign due to a season-ending Lisfranc injury he suffered in that preseason.
He ran for 1,107 yards and seven touchdowns on 260 carries in 2025, while also catching 36 passes for 292 yards and six scores. He ranked 11th in the NFL in rushing yards, 17th in the league in yards from scrimmage (1,399) and accounted for a career-high 13 total touchdowns.
Overall, in 69 career NFL games from 2022-26, Etienne has rushed for 3,926 yards and 25 touchdowns on 927 carries while also catching 179 passes for 1,389 yards and seven more scores.
