Clemson already has its 2027 and 2028 quarterbacks in the fold, meaning the Tigers can turn their attention towards the 2029 class.

One signal caller worth watching is four-star Khayel Sam Fong-Talia (South Forsyth, GA), who tells The Clemson Insider that he will be returning to Clemson this weekend for the matchup against fourth-ranked Miami. His parents are expected to accompany him along with one of his assistant coaches.

The 6-foot, 230-pounder visited twice last season and then again in the spring.

After beginning his high school career at Dillon in the Pee Dee area of South Carolina, Sam Fong-Talia is now at South Forsyth in Georgia. Through six games, he’s passed for 1,277 yards with 14 touchdowns to just three interceptions. The dual-threat quarterback has also rushed for well over 600 yards, with seven more scores.

Sam Fong-Talia already has close to two dozen offers, including Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, South Carolina and Tennessee.

The Tigers won’t even start handing out offers to players in the 2029 class until next summer, but Sam Fong-Talia is certainly a name worth monitoring.

“I think it just means more when they offer,” he told TCI in a previous interview. “Other schools give out 250, and Clemson only gives out around 50. In my class, if I am one of those 50, that would be really, really special.”

247 ranks Sam Fong-Talia No. 65 overall and No. 3 among all quarterbacks in the 2029 class.
