Swinney Updates Injury Status to O-Lineman

CLEMSON — For the last two weeks, a Clemson offensive lineman has popped up on the Tigers’ official injury report for ACC games as “out.”

On Wednesday, following the Tigers’ practice behind the Allen Reeves Football Complex, head coach Dabo Swinney was asked why junior Mason Wade’s name continues to pop up on the injury report. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound lineman has yet to take a snap for the Tigers through the first month of the season.

Swinney confirmed Wade is not out of the season, though his injury was not shared to the media.

“We think at some point we will get him back, but it will be just later in the season,” the Clemson coach said. “We anticipate at some point getting him back.”

In 2025, Wade played in three games with 22 offensive snaps. He played three snaps at Boston College. He played a season-high 19 snaps in the Furman game and played on special teams against Penn State in the Pinstripe Bowl.

Wade played in two games in 2024. He tallied 29 offensive snaps, which was his freshman season. He played 13 snaps in the App State game, and 16 against NC State.

Before Clemson, Wade a two-time all-state and all-district selection at Loudoun Valley High School in Hamilton, Va.

Clemson hosts No. 4 Miami Saturday (7:30 p.m.) at Memorial Stadium.
