CLEMSON —Not only is the Clemson-Miami matchup a big one on the field, but for the Tigers, it will also have ramifications for recruiting.
The Clemson coaching staff will have many high-profile recruits on hand when the Tigers host the fourth-ranked Hurricanes on Saturday in prime time.
One of the biggest is four-star OL target Sam Walker. The blue-chip talent recently named Clemson, Georgia Tech and South Carolina as his three finalists, but since then, Georgia has started to push. Walker has been to Athens twice already this season.
Another high-profile OL target set to attend is four-star Joey Fleming. This is one of many visits Fleming will make this season. Vanderbilt, LSU and Ohio State have already gotten game-day visits. He picked up his offer in June shortly after working out at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp.
Three-star OL target Reece Wilmes also returns this weekend. Wilmes is the younger brother of current freshman OL Braden Wilmes. This will mark his first of two scheduled game-day visits to Clemson this season. He is also slated to return for the South Carolina game. Wilmes was the first 2028 OL to pick up an offer from the Tigers.
As previously reported, four-star RB Xander Edwards is also set to make his first game-day visit to Clemson on Saturday. The Tigers have yet to offer a 2028 RB, but that could change after this visit.
Four-star CB Tyler Boyd, who just picked up an offer from Clemson on Friday, might be on hand. Boyd told TCI on Friday he was still trying to work out the details. He was originally scheduled to be at Texas A&M this weekend, but that trip is now off.
Four-star wideout Jayce Halasz will be in attendance. The Tigers have yet to offer.
Four-star DE Tyson Williams will make a game-day visit for the first time this season. Williams last visited for the Syracuse game last year. Clemson has yet to offer but that could change after this weekend.
“Clemson has always been a school that I have liked,” Williams recently told TCI. “I have been watching them since before I was a real recruit.”
Three-star edge Demarshuwn Clemens will also be on hand, as will four-star CB Kylen Johnson.
Three-star in-state safety Desiray Christian is also slated to be on hand. He has attended both home games this season.
2029 four-star QB Khayel Sam Fong-Talia makes his return to campus this weekend. Sam Fong-Talia has visited multiple times now, with the most recent visit coming during the spring. 2029 in-state DT Emavian Gibson also returns for his second visit this season.
2029 in-state QB Bear Woods will also visit.
A large number of current commits are also set to be back in Clemson this weekend, most notably five-star wideout Jamarin Simmons. Four-star CB Jayden Aparicio-Bailey and four-star RB Gary Walker are also expected to attend.
Three-star LB RJ Hudson will be back on campus. Hudson made the news recently when he announced an offer from Texas.
Some of the other commits scheduled to be in attendance include:
- Three-star DE Jiquan Rogers
- Three-star DT Jaden Wuerth
- Four-star S Jarrell Chandler
- Four-star DE Desmond Malpress
- Four-star QB Kharim Hughley
- Four-star DT Seth Tillman
- Four-star S Harrison Luke
- Three-star CB Christian Chancellor
- Four-star WR Trey Wimbley
- Four-star DE Santana Harvey
2028 three-star QB commit Trace Hawkins says he is unable to attend due to Homecoming at his high school this weekend.
