Tee Higgins Injury Update

It appears Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver and former Clemson star Tee Higgins has avoided an overly serious injury.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor announced this week that Higgins is considered day-to-day with his adductor (groin) injury.

Higgins had a monster game this past Sunday in Week 4 of the NFL season before suffering the injury while making a sideline grab in the fourth quarter. He tried to return later, but was unable to play through it.

Prior to the injury, Higgins went off for 11 receptions and 157 yards in the Bengals’ 22-17 home loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Taylor’s day-to-day prognosis for Higgins indicates the injury is likely not a severe, long-term issue. However, he did not practice Wednesday, the first practice day of the week.

Higgins’ status remains uncertain for Sunday’s road matchup against the Miami Dolphins in Week 5.

“Obviously [with] the game he had and the performances he’s had for us in the past, any time you can get him it’s great,” Taylor said on Monday. “So we’ll just see where he’s at this week.”

Higgins continues to be a major part of the Bengals’ passing attack in 2026, which marks his seventh NFL season after being selected by Cincinnati in the second round (33rd overall pick) of the 2020 NFL Draft. To begin the 2026 campaign, he has recorded 25 receptions for 401 yards and a touchdown in four games.

Higgins is coming off a 2025 season where he earned his first career Pro Bowl selection. In 15 games last year, he registered 59 receptions for 846 yards, and he tied for second in the NFL with a career-high 11 touchdown receptions despite missing a couple of games due to concussions.
