At least one Clemson commit is exploring other options.
Last month, three-star LB RJ Hudson (Varina, VA) added an offer from Texas, and The Clemson Insider has confirmed he has now locked in an official visit to Austin on October 24, when the Longhorns host Ole Miss.
Hudson committed to Clemson in June, about a week after picking up an offer from the Tigers. He took his official visit to Clemson, June 12-14. The recruiting services list him as an edge, although the Tigers took him as a linebacker.
It’s widely known that Dabo Swinney has a longstanding policy of not wanting committed players to take official visits to other schools, so this is definitely one to watch as flip season heats up. Hudson told TCI that he is still committed to Clemson.
As a junior, Hudson had 45 tackles with 13 sacks. He also added a pair of forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries, along with two pass breakups and an interception.
Hudson is currently one of three linebackers committed to Clemson, along with four-star Bryce Kish and three-star Max Brown.
