Clemson Suffers First Decommitment

Clemson has suffered its first decommitment of the 2027 recruiting class.

Three-star LB RJ Hudson has decommitted from the Tigers, The Clemson Insider has confirmed. Earlier on Friday, TCI reported that Hudson had locked in an official visit to Texas for October 24, when the Longhorns host Ole Miss.

It’s widely known that Dabo Swinney has a longstanding policy of not wanting committed players to take official visits to other schools.

Hudson committed to Clemson in June, about a week after picking up an offer from the Tigers. He took his official visit to Clemson, June 12-14. The recruiting services list him as an edge, although the Tigers took him as a linebacker.

As a junior, Hudson had 45 tackles with 13 sacks. He also added a pair of forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries, along with two pass breakups and an interception.

Hudson’s defection leaves Clemson with two linebacker commits in four-star Bryce Kish and three-star Max Brown.
