Devastating News for Clemson Basketball

CLEMSON — Following an MRI on Monday, October 12, it was confirmed that sophomore guard Zac Foster suffered a torn ACL to his same knee. There is no timetable yet for Foster’s return.

Head Coach Brad Brownell
“My heart hurts for Zac during this difficult time. He is a special young man with a bright future. He has worked tirelessly these last nine-plus months to get back onto the floor. We’re committed to keeping Zac engaged throughout this process and he will continue to play a meaningful role in our team’s efforts. I care for him deeply and know that he will be resilient in the face of this new challenge.”

“I am devastated with this news. I’ve worked extremely hard to come back and help this team this season, and to face this again is a very difficult reality. I appreciate the support of the Clemson Family, my teammates and my coaches over these past several months and I can’t wait to be back healthy and playing in Littlejohn again.”

The 6-foot-4 Foster was expected to be one of the Tigers’ starting guards this season, alongside Ace Buckner.

Foster originally tore the ACL in December of 2025 during a win over rival South Carolina. He appeared in 12 games before the injury, averaging 6.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists in 18.6 minutes per game. He totaled five steals and three blocks, while shooting 81.8 percent from the foul line.

Foster arrived at Clemson as a consensus four-star talent and ranked No. 70 overall.
