One of the top running backs in the state will be back at Clemson this weekend.
Three-star Michael Martin II will visit for the Virginia Tech game on Saturday, marking his second visit this fall. Martin has visited numerous times already, including almost every home game last season.
Martin has also taken game-day visits to Virginia, Wake Forest, Cincinnati and Duke this season.
The 5-foot-9, 185-pound back transferred from Christ Church to Southside Christian midseason, and due to transfer rules, Martin has yet to suit up for his new school. However, that is about to change as the running back will make his debut on Friday night.
Martin rushed for more than 1,400 yards as a sophomore, averaging 5.5 yards per carry and scoring 30 touchdowns, while earning 3A all-state honors. Prep Red Zone ranks him as the top in-state back in his class and No. 5 in the Palmetto State.
Clemson has offered just one running back in the 2028 class to this point. Four-star Xander Edwards announced an offer while visiting for the Miami game on October 3.
