Clemson Secures 2027 Commitment

Erik Bakich and Clemson are staying hot on the recruiting trail.

The Tigers have picked up a commitment from Sam Ellis, out of Blyth Academy in Ontario, Canada.

Ellis, an OF/IF, announced the commitment via a social media post.

“I’m blessed and excited to announce my commitment to Clemson University,” Ellis wrote. “I am beyond thankful to God for his goodness to me and for blessing me with this opportunity. To my parents and family, this would not have happened without your commitment to me. I can’t thank you enough. Thank you to TJ Burton for your belief in me as a person and a player. I’m extremely proud to have grown up playing for ONC. Finally, I want to thank Coach Bakich and the Clemson coaching staff for believing in me. Go Tigers!”

Perfect Game gives Ellis a grade of 9, meaning “potential top 10 round pick and/or highest level college prospect.” The outlet also lists him as a former North Dakota State commit.
