CLEMSON – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced Monday that Clemson kicker Nolan Hauser has been named ACC Specialist of the Week for his performance in the Tigers’ 37-0 shutout win against Charleston Southern on Saturday.
Clemson has now garnered six ACC weekly honors this season, including three by Hauser. The Tigers have amassed a total of 598 ACC weekly awards since 1968. The selection is Hauser’s fifth of his career, passing David Richardson (four) for the most ACC Specialist of the Week selections in Clemson history.
Hauser went 3-for-3 on field goals and 4-for-4 on PATs on Saturday, improving to 15-of-16 on field goals and 11-for-11 on PATs this season. During the contest, he became the ninth kicker in Clemson history to reach 50 career field goals and the 13th player in school history to reach 250 career points.
Hauser recorded a career-long 59-yard field goal in the final minute of the first half. It represented the second-longest field goal in Clemson history, trailing only a 61-yarder by Spencer Benton against Ball State in 2012. Including his 56-yard walk-off field goal to win the 2024 ACC Championship Game, Hauser is now responsible for two of the five longest field goals in Clemson history.
Hauser presently ranks tied for second in the nation in field goals made. The Lou Groza Award candidate is one of 13 players nationally with at least 15 attempts this season, and of those 13, he is one of only two with a field goal percentage of 90.0 or better. His 59-yard field goal is the third-longest in the nation this season, and his 583 cumulative yards of made field goals rank second.
This week, Hauser and the Tigers host Virginia Tech at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 24. The prime-time matchup is scheduled for a 7 p.m. ET kickoff on ESPN.
