Swinney Provides New Update On Injured RB

CLEMSON — Clemson’s offense is expected to get one of its pieces back this weekend.

Dabo Swinney provided a positive update on reserve running back Jarvis Green, noting that the fourth-year player will return for the prime-time matchup against Virginia Tech on Saturday. The Dutch Fork product suffered an injury in the fourth quarter against Miami and missed the win over Charleston Southern.

“We are expecting to get him back,” the head coach said during his weekly press conference on Tuesday.

Green is in the midst of his most productive season as a Tiger. He has carried the ball 21 times for 88 yards, with both of those marks serving as career-highs for a season.

Last year, Green medically redshirted after missing the season after sustaining a foot injury in fall camp. The Irmo, S.C., native came into the 2026 season credited with 12 carries for 57 yards and two receptions for 35 yards with a touchdown in 37 career offensive snaps over 11 games. He also recorded a 36-yard kickoff return in 2023.

“He is just a good player,” Swinney added. “Good vision. He is a confident runner. He does get a lot of dirty yards. He kind of runs through the trash, through the contact. He is always going forward.

Saturday’s game vs. Virginia Tech at Clemson’s Memorial Stadium is set for a 7 p.m. kickoff and will be televised on ESPN.
