Clemson Enters Matchup at FSU as Underdog

Clemson entered Saturday’s home game against Virginia Tech as a slight 2.5-point favorite, only to ultimately suffer a 20-16 defeat at Memorial Stadium.

Now, Clemson looks to bounce back this Saturday when it travels to face Florida State at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Fla. (7 p.m., ACC Network).

The Tigers are currently a 6.5-point road underdog against the Seminoles, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Clemson enters the contest 4-3 overall and 2-2 in ACC play, while Florida State is 3-4 overall and 1-3 in the conference.

The Seminoles are coming off an open date. Mike Norvell’s team narrowly lost its most recent game – a 43-35, double-overtime defeat at Miami on Oct. 17.

When the Tigers take on the Seminoles, Clemson will try to extend its current road winning streak at Doak Campbell Stadium to five games.

A victory would make Clemson only the third program ever to win five or more consecutive road games at Florida State, joining Florida (six from 1966-76) and Miami (five from 1957-77).

Clemson has won two straight against Florida State and is 9-1 in its last 10 games overall against the Seminoles, including its 4-0 mark in Tallahassee in that span. Florida State leads the all-time series, 21-17.

ESPN Analytics give FSU a 71.9% chance to win Saturday’s game.

Clemson has been an underdog in two other games so far this season – on the road against LSU and at home against Miami — and the Tigers ended up losing those two games by a total of 69 points.
