Former Tiger Celebrated National Tight Ends Day in Style

Former Clemson tight end Davis Allen celebrated Sunday’s National Tight Ends Day in serious style.

Davis Allen hauled in two receiving touchdowns to help lead the Los Angeles Rams to a 35-21 road victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday in Week 7 of the NFL season.

Allen caught scoring passes of 3 yards and 5 yards from quarterback Matthew Stafford, giving Allen his first touchdowns of the 2026 campaign.

Allen finished the game with four receptions on five targets for 20 yards and his two trips to the end zone, delivering a big performance for the annual tight end holiday celebration.

Allen’s touchdowns helped the Rams race out to a 28-6 lead by halftime. The touchdowns also helped Stafford (who threw for three touchdowns overall) reach 155 career touchdown passes in a Rams uniform, becoming the new franchise leader in that category.

Allen is now in his fourth season with the Rams after being drafted by Los Angeles in the fifth round (175th overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. He entered Sunday’s game with six receptions for 63 yards through the first six games this season.

The Georgia native appeared in all 20 games for the Rams last season, including the postseason. He started five of the 17 regular-season games and caught 24 passes for 208 yards and three touchdowns, all career-highs.

Allen played at Clemson from 2019-22, when he recorded 88 receptions, 951 receiving yards and 12 receiving touchdowns over 54 games. He was a third-team All-ACC selection in 2022, when he posted career highs in receptions (39), receiving yards (443), touchdowns (five) and offensive snaps (701) while starting all 14 games.

Allen and the Rams (3-4) return to action next Sunday when they host the 0-6 Los Angeles Chargers in Week 8.
