Higgins, Lawrence Play Starring Roles in Bengals Win

The Cincinnati Bengals earned a 43โ€“36 overtime victory over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday in Week 8 of the NFL season, thanks to the help of big-time performances from a pair of former Clemson stars — wide receiver Tee Higgins and defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence.

Higgins had a monster day as a leading star in the aerial attack, hauling in 10 receptions for 155 yards and 2 touchdowns on 11 targets.

He scored a 17-yard touchdown in the third quarter following a turnover, and later forced overtime by reeling in a clutch 18-yard touchdown pass from Joe Burrow with just 1:17 remaining in regulation.

Meanwhile, Lawrence anchored the Bengals’ defensive efforts as he recorded seven total tackles, one sack, a tackle for loss, a quarterback hit and a fumble recovery.

His third-quarter fumble recovery (which came close to a scoop-and-score) directly led to Higgins’ first touchdown, and Lawrence teamed up with Demetrius Knight Jr. to force a big safety on Titans running back Tony Pollard late in the third quarter.

Lawrence and Higgins both played a major role in the Bengals improving to 5-2 on the season with Sundayโ€™s win at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati.

The Bengals will play the Atlanta Falcons next Sunday in Week 9. Itโ€™s the NFL Madrid Game in Madrid, Spain.
