Jeb Blazevich, one of the top 2014 tight ends in the nation, visited Clemson on Saturday to watch the Tigers battle Ball State. The trip to Death Valley was familiar for Jeb whose brother attends Clemson.
“I really enjoyed it. I was thankful for them having me down. I took my good friends Zac Myers and Brian Chaffin and we got to hang out with my brother,” said Blazevich.
How did Jeb enjoy the game?
“It was a good game. If Ball State had beat them it would have been a huge upset so we knew Clemson would come out with a win. We got to watch Nuk put on a show,” said Blazevich.
The Charlotte Christian standout watched how Clemson uses the tight end in the offense.
“I felt like their main concept was running the same basic plays out of different sets. They tight end was very involved whether it was blocking or catching the ball. Whatever they were doing was working,” said Blazevich.
The Clemson staff spoke with Jeb and his family during the visit, but didn’t put any pressure on the prize recruit.
“I got to talk with coach Swinney, coach Pearman, coach Scott and coach Morris. They just said hey and we talked. They didn’t give me a big pitch. They were very relaxed and I appreciated that. Coach Swinney said don’t forget about us now. Coach Pearman told me to go take some visits so I can find out there is no place like Clemson,” said Blazevich.
Jeb will be traveling all over the country the next few weeks as he checks out a number of top schools.
“I am headed to Georgia next to see them play Vanderbilt. Then I am going to fly down to LSU. We are going to drive up to Ohio State. I might also see South Carolina, North Carolina and maybe take a trip to Alabama. Those first three are the ones that are planned right now,” said Blazevich.
Friday night the top tight end helped lead Charlotte Christian to an easy victory.
“It went well. We went in expected to win. We wanted to reestablish the run first. I only had one catch. I was double-teamed a lot. It was more of a blocking game for me. I got the sledge hammer award along with my good friend,” said Blazevich.
