Catching up with Mike Bellamy

TheClemsonInsider.com caught up with former Clemson running back Mike Bellamy who is now attending Eastern Arizona College.

“I like it out here.  I haven’t been having a real good season.  We run the option formation a lot.  We are 0-5 this year,” said Bellamy.

The speedster hasn’t seen the field much this fall.

“I really haven’t been getting a lot of playing time.  I have four or five carries and have scored on two or three.  I am really here to make my grades.  I just need to take care of those so I can get where I need to be,” said Bellamy.

Mike has been working hard in the classroom.

“It is going well.  I am making at least a C average.  I am keeping up with all of my classes,” said Bellamy.

What is Mike hearing from the Clemson staff?

“I haven’t talked to the Clemson coaches lately.  I am just focusing on my classes,” replied Bellamy.

The former Tiger watches Clemson whenever he gets a chance.

“I have been watching them a lot.  They are my team.  I still like Clemson.  I love coach Morris and how he runs the offense.  I have already bonded with all of the guys at Clemson.  I can’t turn my back on them,” said Bellamy.

Mike catches up with his former teammate Sammy Watkins frequently.

“I talk with Sammy a lot.  That is my buddy.  We touch base every now and then.  He just tells me to do what is right and come back when I can,” said Bellamy.

Mike still loves the Tigers and would like to return to Clemson if possible in the future.

“Oh yeah, I have always planned to go back to Clemson.  Just like I said the first time Clemson is the best place for me.  I am not going to change my mind unless they say they are done,” said Bellamy.
