Around the ACC

The ACC, the top rated conference in the RPI, went 9-3 against non-conference opponents this past week to improve to 239-65 (.786) against non-ACC competition. Clemson (4-0), Virginia (4-0), and Virginia Tech (2-0) all had undefeated weeks and seven teams (Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech, NC State, North Carolina, Virginia, & Virginia Tech) are ranked in at least one of the three major polls this week led by the second-ranked Tar Heels. The three teams slated to join the ACC in coming seasons (Louisville, Notre Dame, and Pittsburgh) went 9-3 during the week as they moved to a combined 113-43 (.724) this season while the Cardinals and Panthers are both ranked in the top-25.

The Eagles had last weekend off for exams and then dropped a single midweek game to Maine on Tuesday. This weekend Boston College concludes its season with a three-game set at Maryland.

The Blue Devils were swept last weekend at #7 Virginia but bounced back with a Tuesday win at UNC Greensboro. This weekend Duke welcomes #5 NC State to the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, site of the ACC Tournament, for a three-game weekend series.

The Seminoles, ranked as high as #8 in the nation, won a series at #5 NC State this past weekend. This week Florida State looks to win the Atlantic Division with a three-game home series against Clemson followed by a single game at #2 North Carolina on Monday.

The Yellow Jackets picked up a huge home series win over #1 North Carolina last weekend before dropping an extra inning affair to Georgia on Tuesday. This weekend Georgia Tech wraps up its regular-season with a three-game ACC series at Miami (FL).
