The Clemson coaches hosted 2016 offensive lineman Sean Pollard for a visit on Sunday afternoon; and he’ll be back in town later this month.

The four-star (Rivals) prospect was joined by his dad and grandmother.

“We went and saw some of the school, not all of it, because it was kind of rainy, so we were kind of limited,” Pollard told TheClemsonInsider on Sunday night.

“I’ll be back for the UNC vs. Clemson game, to watch. But, yeah, overall, good visit. Got to meet everybody.”

Before heading back home to Southern Pines, North Carolina, the Pinecrest High School junior spent an hour with Dabo Swinney.

“Just talking about how they like me and all that stuff, the reason they’re recruiting me,” Pollard said, “Because I fit the questions they ask coaches when they recruit someone…he just told me about himself, his resume, basically; and what his philosophies are at Clemson.

“We didn’t talk much ball. If I did come there, me being a mid-year (enrollee) would help, just stuff like that.”

And, if Pollard, does end up in Clemson, he’ll be more than happy to play on the Tigers’ home field.

“I just really like the stadium. Death Valley, you can’t get that anywhere else,” he said. “It’s, obviously, a big center point, so I like that a lot.”

Pollard also visited Duke this past weekend.

“It was good,” he said. “I got to see them play (Kansas). I watched the o-line. I went with some of my boys. I play defense some in high school (and) we were just watching our positions. We were enjoying it. They won 41-3, so it was a good game.”

Pollard will visit N.C. State on Saturday for the PC game. He’s also scheduled a trip to UNC for the Oct. 4 showdown with Virginia Tech.

A few weeks ago, Pollard was set to make a commitment, but he opted to delay the decision.

“I talked to my dad (and) I’m kind of young: 16. (I) don’t really need to make a life decision right now, so we just decided to wait,” he said.

There is no timeline to reach that conclusion

“I just want to see how this year plays out,” Pollard said.

And there is no favorite, not a top-five — nothing.

“Just wide-open,” Pollard said. “Just waiting.”
