Last month, Clemson offered four-star point guard Rechon Black. The 2018 prospect from Concord, N.C. visited on Saturday with his parents.
Black (6-6, 170) and his parents went straight to practice, after getting into town around 2 o’clock.
“Then, after that, we had a tailgate. We ate, then I went into coach (Brad) Brownell’s office and talked and watched a couple of football games on TV before we went down to the field,” he said.
Brownell and his staff made a good impression on Black.
“I loved it. Everybody was fun to be around. It was great,” he said.
What was their message?
“Just told me that when it’s time to decide which school I want to go to just to be sure that I’ll get to play and they basically said if I go to Clemson. I would be a big part of the team.”
With all of the construction going on at Littlejohn Coliseum, Black got a sneak peek at the plans for the facility once it’s finished.
“It’s nice…it really is. I like it. They said it should be done by next year,” he said.
Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Charlotte and Western Carolina have also offered.
Black plans to visit Clemson again next month for the Florida State game.
