‘It’s like nowhere else’

Stuart Head has already made several game day visits this season, but none compared to the experience he had in Clemson on Saturday for the Notre Dame game.

“It was pretty incredible. It was probably the biggest game I’ve done on a game day visit. The fans really showed out, despite the weather,” he said.

The three-star prospect from Woodstock-Etowah (Ga.) had more good things to say.

“I’d been to Clemson and I’d been to a Clemson game before with my coach, who I went with this time, but this one was really special. It was College Game Day and all of the students were ready to go. The atmosphere was just incredible. It’s like nowhere else,” he said.

Head met with Mike Reed before the game and Brent Venables when it was over.

“It was just pretty brief,” he said of his conversation with Reed. “We didn’t talk about much. I’m always in contact with him, so there wasn’t much he had to say, but I’m in good contact with coach Reed.”

Congratulations were in order for the post-game conversation.

“I was hanging out with some of the commits all game, so (Venables) had a lot to say to them. He was pretty pumped up,” Head said.

Baylon Spector, the 2017 linebacker commit, is a good friend of Head’s. He’s also buddies with 2016 pledge Tre Lamar — they play in the same region.

So far this season, Head has already been to Georgia, Duke, Virginia, Georgia Tech. He’ll visit Tennessee this weekend.

“I haven’t really made a list. I love all of my offers, but going to Clemson definitely puts it up near the top,” he said.

Along with Clemson, several ACC schools have offered, as have Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Cal, Nebraska and Maryland. There is no list of favorites.

“I’m just going to commit when I’m ready. It’d be nice if I could commit before my senior year, but I’m not in a rush. Just whenever the time is right for me.”

Head has 35 tackles and one interception this season.
