Seven years ago today Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney became the interim head coach following Tommy Bowden’s resignation as head coach.

“This is always a day of reflection for me,” Swinney said. “It is always a special day for me.”

Swinney took over when the Tigers had a 3-3 record that year. Since then, he became the first interim coach to take over at midseason and take a program to a bowl game. He later became the permanent head coach at Clemson and has since guided the Tigers to a 66-26 record, an ACC Championship and four straight 10-win seasons. Currently his Tigers are ranked No. 5 in the country as they get set to host Boston College on Saturday at 7 p.m.
