Clemson pushing for Atlanta-area OL

Dabo Swinney let it be known: Tremayne Anchrum Jr. is a wanted man in Tigertown.

Anchrum, a three-star offensive guard from Powder Springs-McEachern (Ga.), took an unofficial visit earlier this month for the Georgia Tech game.

“The best experience probably was meeting the coaches and talking to them,

getting a little inside look on Clemson, seeing what really makes them work and what really drives them, their motivation and what Clemson is all about,” Anchrum said. “It was a good experience being on campus and seeing some things. Talking to coach Dabo Swinney was really awesome.”

According to 247, he’s the No. 18 ranked offensive guard in the class of 2016.

“(Swinney) told me that they were excited about me and they had been watching me for a while…he told me that they really want me and they’re excited to be recruiting me and they want to get me up again soon for an official,” Anchrum said. “He was telling me that I’m the type of person they want on campus and the type of player they need. It was a good conversation.”

The trip marked his first visit to Clemson.

“It was nice. I loved the feel the Clemson family has. Not just the team feeling, but the whole thing…everybody wants to support the Tigers. It’s a real family environment — shaking hands with the players and in the Tiger Walk. It was a very good atmosphere.”

Anchrum and his father are “in the process” of deciding about an official visit to Clemson.

“I’m scheduling one. We’re going to schedule one,” he said.

An official visit to Boston College could be made during the first weekend in November. Colorado and Nebraska have already hosted him officially.

The 6-foot-3, 260-pound prospect is scheduled to graduate from high school in December.
