Clemson survives Lenoir-Rhyne

GREENVILLE, S.C. — In their 2015-16 debut at The Bon Secours Wellness Arena, Clemson used double-overtime to beat Lenoir-Rhyne on Thursday night, 87-84.

Clemson trailed the Division II opponent by as many as 10 in the second half, before fending off the Bears, who finished 8-18 last season.

Donte Grantham led Clemson with 27 points and was the only Tiger to hit a 3-pointer (4 of 7). The rest of the team missed all 19 attempts.

Jordan Roper had 23 points on 9 of 20 shooting from the field.

Jaron Blossomgame finished with 14 points, despite spending most of the night in foul-trouble.

Before fouling out in the second overtime, Avry Holmes scored nine points and handed out four assists.

Landry Nnoko had a game-high 15 rebounds and chipped in with eight points.

As a team, Lenior-Rhyne shot 44 percent from the field. Keenan Palmore had a team-high 26 points
