John Simpson spent several days in Clemson earlier this summer for the Dabo Swinney Football Camp.
Before Saturday’s game against Florida State, it was his most recent visit to Clemson.
“It was really interesting. It was a live crowd. Everybody was excited for the game,” Simpson said.
The four-star offensive lineman from Fort Dorchester planned to attend the Notre Dame game, but the heavy rain changed his plans.
Simpson was joined at the Florida State game by his grandfather.
“The best part for me was how they were down — they let them score real early in the game and they came back without any indication that they were getting beat,” Simpson said.
LSU will host him for an official visit this weekend.
“As of right now, that is my only one planned, date and time and everything, but I know I’m going to — I know for sure I’m going back to Florida,” Simpson said.
A decision will be announced in January at the U.S. Army All-American game.
