Tigers sprint past Roadrunners

GREENVILLE — On Brad Brownell’s 47th birthday, Clemson cruised to win No. 2 on Sunday afternoon at The Well, knocking off Texas-San Antonio, 78-45.

Donte Grantham led all scorers with 22 points. Most of his damage was done from deep. The sophomore knocked down 5-of-7 shots from behind the 3-point line.

As a team, Clemson hit 48 percent of their 3-pointers (12-for-25). The Tigers started white hot, hitting 6-of-9, to start the game.

Jordan Roper, who had 13 points, made a pair of 3s. Gabe Devoe made three from outside and finished with 11 points.

Jaron Blossomgame chipped in with 11 points and eight rebounds. Sidy Djitte had a game-high 10 boards.

The Tigers never trailed in front the announced crowd of 6,262.

Clemson is back in action on Thursday night when Texas Southern comes to town.
