No. 1 2018 CB visits

Christian Tutt, who’s already ranked by 247 as the top cornerback in the 2018 class, visited Clemson earlier this month for the Florida State game.

Tutt was joined by several of the other top defensive backs in the southeast, including 2017 four-stars Jamyest Williams and Malcolm Askew and 2018 four-star Tyreke Johnson.

“Jamyest is like my brother and we were talking about how we could come to Clemson and take over the secondary,” Tutt said. “It depends on how everything plays out, to see if we can get to the same school.”

Defensive backs coach Mike Reed wouldn’t mind having them.

“He was talking to me about, if I come there, we’ll shut down the south,” Tutt said.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound prospect from Thomson, Ga. enjoyed his visit for the Florida State game.

“It was a good time going up there to Clemson. I got with some of the players…I talked to a lot of the coaches up there and talked with them, so I had a great time,” Tutt said.

He added, “The environment, it was a crazy, because that was a big game. It was a conference game. I liked the atmosphere, too. It was a packed house. The fans were turned up, so it was a good environment.”

This season, Tutt has 63 tackles, three forced fumbles, two pass breakups and an interception. He’s also recorded 447 kickoff return yards and taken two for touchdowns.
